Parramatta. Auction of historic building

The former Commonwealth Bank building, at 215-217 Church Street, in the Parramatta CBD is to be auctioned on May 31. The two-storey building of 1377 square metres will be offered with vacant possession. The property was initially the site of St Andrews Presbyterian Church until 1925 when it was sold to the bank and relocated to Wentworthville. Over the years the building served as a bank, used as a pancakes outlet and a record store. A DA was approved, in 2008, for a hotel on the site, which is currently used as a fashion shop.
