Parramatta. Economic decision deferred

Parramatta City Council has deferred for two weeks a decision to hold a workshop to discuss the re-introduction of an economic development board and the use of a special levy for economic development activities. Clr John Chedid said the board should aim to attract business representatives from major stakeholders who contribute to the levy and cover industries such as hospitality, finance, law, retail, tourism, health, IT and the building industry.

Parramatta. Boost in fees

arramatta City Council’s 15 councillors will each receive an increase of $700 in their annual fee to $23,950, from July 1. On top of that, the lord mayor’s annual fee will increase by $2030 to $69,780, making the total of $93,730 for the position. The total fees payable to all councillors will be $429,030. The Local Government Remuneration Tribunal places Parramatta in the “major cities” category along with Newcastle and Wollongong.
