Region. Private office v open-plan space

“It’s a hot potato as far as academics are concerned,” said UWS executive business dean, Associate Professor Robyn McGuiggan, when commenting on academics having to give up private offices for open-plan space. Academics had refused to work from a Bankstown campus building being refurbished with open-plan office space and which is expected to host business courses from next year. She said in The Australian Financial Review. She said the rationale for open-plan spaces was simple: staff often teach at more than one campus and having their own office at a campus where they may only be based one day a week was unnecessary.
