Camellia. Toxic chemicals flow into river

The Department of the Environment and Climate Change, has issued a formal notice to transport company, Patrick, now owned by Asciano, on the Camellia peninsula, forcing it to undertake major contamination of the site used to store containers. It is the fourth industrial site at Camellia to be declared contaminated with chromium V1, originating from an old chrome factory near the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. The contaminated soil was used as landfill on the Patrick's site. The chemical is a cancer-causing agent that is acutely toxic for marine life. It is leaking into the Parramatta River.
