Aldi opens in Parramatta CBD

German supermarket giant, Aldi, will open a store in George Street, in the heart of the Parramatta CBD, on Thursday June 26. The store, which has retail area of 800 square metres and will stock some 800 lines, will employ between 10-15 workers. It will open at various times, seven days a week. The company has a DA before Parramatta City Council for a 1000-square-metre outlet on Briens Road, at Northmead.

Council will not co-operate with DOP

Parramatta City Council will advise the Department of Planning that it will not co-operate in any study that reviews the Epping conservation area with an intention of allowing increased density. Council also decided to cease all negotiations regarding the new LEP until an assurance is given that there will be no attempt to substantially alter the character of Epping.
